Thomas W. Sudberry, Jr.
President
As the founder of Sudberry Properties, Inc., Thomas Sudberry has a vision for the ever-changing and developing San Diego area and beyond.
Over the past 29 years, he has led Sudberry in being a trusted creator of many of the finest real estate developments in the San Diego area and in Nevada. In recent years, successful projects have given Sudberry the reputation as the leader of the 'new urbanism' movement; creating the high quality of multi-use developments. Under his leadership, Sudberry Properties has developed nearly 6 million square feet, with a market value exceeding $800 million.
Mr. Sudberry's educational background includes an MBA from Stanford University, a Mechanical Engineering degree from Rice University, and a recently completed AMD Executive Program from the Harvard Graduate School of Design. He also was a U.S. Naval Aviator and served on two Vietnam combat cruises in light attack A-7 Corsair II aboard the U.S.S. Constellation.
Tom’s involvement in the community in which he lives and works is emphasized in the varied list of organizations that he is affiliated with. He has been very active in the International Council of Shopping Centers, Urban Land Institute, Congress of New Urbanism, San Diego BIA and the National Council for Urban Economic Development. Tom is also a member of the Policy Advisory Board Executive Committee USD Burnham-Moores Center for Real Estate, San Diego Economic Corporation, and the Regional Chamber of Commerce. He has or is currently serving as a Board Member of the San Diego River Park Foundation, Father Joe’s Villages, Move San Diego, Impact Urban America, the North County San Diego Building Industry Association, the USS Midway Aircraft Carrier Museum, and Santa Fe Christian Schools.
