TERRACES AT COPLEY POINT
The Terraces at Copley Point is a premier class A office campus consisting of 380,000 square feet of two 6-story office buildings designed and constructed with top of the grade materials including an exterior clad in Brazilian gold- and black-colored sandstone. The lobbies feature granite, cherry-wood panel systems, stainless steel and indirect lighting. Project architect Sean Chen of Architects Hanna Gabriel Wells in Ocean Beach states that the project was certified as LEED-Silver, indicating that it exceeds the usual energy and environmental standards. The detailed landscaping, flowing waterfall and inviting benches in the attractive courtyard provides working professionals a perfect location to enjoy their lunch or conduct casual outdoor meetings. The project is ideally located in Kearny Mesa, allowing business professionals easy access from both the Interstate 805 and Highway 52. Construction of the Terraces at Copley Point was completed Fall 2008.
Kaiser Permanente recently closed on its purchase of the 175,000 square foot building as part of their growth plans for San Diego. The other building of 205,000 square feet is fully leased by Cricket Communications as their corporate headquarters. "To have both of these building fully-occupied is a significant accomplishment, especially during these difficult times. We build to a high standard, and include many extra details that make a campus exceptional – the courtyard with contemporary landscaping, water features, and rolling grass hills that block the view of cars," said George Yermanos, Sudberry vice president and director of property management.
The three-story parking garage has room for 1,073 cars and received two concrete awards. The first award for “Cornerstone Concrete Excellence” was awarded by The Southern California Concrete Producers and the American Concrete Institute selected the project to receive the “Parking Structure” award as part of their San Diego Chapter Awards program.
