Richard H. Simons rejoins Sudberry Properties, Inc. as Principal/Partner

Richard H. Simons has rejoined Sudberry Properties, Inc. as partner and principal, announced Thomas Sudberry, Jr., founder and president of the San Diego-based real estate development and asset management firm.
From 1986 to 1992, Simons served as partner and principal-in-charge of office and industrial projects for Sudberry Properties. Having recently rejoined the firm in a similar capacity, Simons is charged with overseeing the company's growing portfolio of office and industrial developments. Specific responsibilities include implementing all aspects of the development process, from initial site acquisition through government and city negotiations, financing, construction, and eventual disposition of each project.
Simons also serves as a complementary addition to Sudberry Properties' dynamic executive team, which includes Tom Sudberry as president; Jeffrey G. Bradley, executive vice president; Colton T. Sudberry, vice president of development; Marco A. Sessa, vice president of development; and Christine E. Evans, chief operating officer.
"Rich's extensive experience and expertise in commercial acquisitions and development, particularly in Southern California, are strong assets for our team and our clients," said Tom Sudberry. "We're extremely pleased to have him back on board."
Prior to rejoining Sudberry Properties, Simons served eight years with Legacy Partners Commercial, Inc. in San Diego. He joined the firm as vice president and subsequently was promoted to senior vice president in charge of the company's Southern California division. Simons oversaw the operation and management of eight projects throughout the region and Las Vegas totaling more than 2 million square feet, and was involved in more than $300 million in acquisitions and development.
Previous experience includes having served 10 years as a developer for Del Mar Development/Silverhorse Vineyards in Paso Robles, Calif., where Simons developed two industrial projects and a retail development with his own capital, valued at $11 million. He also served two years as a project coordinator for Pardee Construction Company, where he was responsible for all aspects of development for all commercial and industrial/office sites located in three major master planned communities located in San Diego and Las Vegas. Projects under his charge ranged from $175-200 million.
Simons earned his bachelor of arts degree in business administration from San Diego State University, with a concentration in finance. He is currently a member of the San Diego and Orange County chapters of the National Association of Office & Industrial Properties (NAIOP). He also is a licensed broker in the state of California.
Born in North Carolina and raised in Newport Beach, Calif., Simons currently resides in Newport Beach with his wife, Kristen, and their twin sons, Ryan and Richie, age 5. In his leisure time, he enjoys boating, golfing, and spending time with family.
