Richard Simons is Principal/Partner in charge of all industrial and office projects for Sudberry Properties. He is responsible for implementing all aspects of the development process from site acquisition through government and city negotiations, financing and construction to eventual disposition of the project. He has held that position since 2004 and served in the same capacity from 1986 to 1992. Previously, he was Senior Vice President for Legacy Partners Commercial, Inc., in charge of the Southern California South Division. He oversaw the operation and management of eight projects with a total square footage of more than 2 million square feet. Between 1986 and 1996, he personally developed one retail and two industrial projects valued at $11 million. Concurrently, he was the winemaker at Silver Horse Vineyards, a small family owned/operated winery and vineyard in Paso Robles, California. From 1984 to 1986 he was Project Coordinator for Pardee Construction Company, responsible for all aspects of development for all commercial and industrial/office sites located in three major master-planned communities located in San Diego and Las Vegas. Earlier, he was President of Sunwest Development Corporation. He began his career as a Sales Agent in the Industrial/Commercial Division of Ashwell-Burke & Company, Inc., where he was a Member of President’s Council, ranking as one of the top 12 salespeople out of 250 in the company. Simons has a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, emphasis in Finance, from San Diego State University. He holds a Real Estate Brokers License from the State of California and membership in NAIOP, in both the San Diego and Orange County chapters.
