Development Team and City of Imperial Beach Officials Celebrate ‘Topping Out’ at Hampton Inn & S
The entire development team and Imperial Beach city officials celebrated the “topping out” and the completion of framing at the Hampton Inn & Suites Hotel at Breakwater Town Center recently.
The 100-guestroom Hampton Inn & Suites, located at 771 Palm Ave, at is the first Hilton Hotel brand in the city. Scheduled to open in early 2020, the hotel is a four-story, 62,000-square-foot project with “beach modern” architecture, a fitness center, breakfast and lounge area, business center and swimming pool.
The festivities were hosted by Watkins Landmark Construction, Sudberry Properties, Tharaldson Development & Hospitality and the City of Imperial Beach. The hotel will be owned by Heritage Inn of Imperial Beach, LLC, with Sudberry Properties serving as a managing partner.
“The development team would like to take this opportunity to recognize and celebrate the skilled workers involved in moving this project closer to completion,” said Colton Sudberry, president of Sudberry Properties.
The hotel, which occupies 1.5 acres and includes 100 parking spaces, is the final phase of Breakwater Town Center, a public-private partnership by the city of Imperial Beach and Sudberry Properties. The town center occupies a prominent 4.75-acre site over a three-block area on Palm Avenue (SR 75) and serves at the gateway to Imperial Beach and Coronado.
