Civita Creekside Park Featured as the ‘Cover Story’in Landscape Architect and Specifier News
In the March 2026 issue devoted to park design across the country, the editors of Landscape Architect and Specifier News featured Creekside Park on the cover and in a five-page article: “Civita Creekside Park – Placemaking Through Performance-Based Landscapes.”
Written by Schmidt Design Group of San Diego, which designed all the parks in Civita, the article calls Creekside Park “a distinctive, 1-3-acre linear park that serves as a vital link in the greater open space network, weaving together green infrastructure, pedestrian connectivity and placemaking within Civita.”
Creekside Park features a dog park, a picnic-and-play plaza, casual seating and an educational panel. The park is one of the final stormwater treatment opportunities in Civita before runoff is slowly released into the San Diego River just a quarter of a mile south.
