The Brynn at Civita Wins CoStar’s 2026 Impact Awardfor ‘Multifamily Development of the Year’

The CoStar Group has honored Sudberry Properties with a 2026 Impact Award, naming The Brynn at Civita the “Multifamily Development of the Year” for San Diego County.

A team of local judges praised The Brynn for meeting the city’s long-term needs for sustainable new housing, while minimizing new vehicle traffic. They acknowledged that Mission Valley is one of the region’s most well-trafficked and high-demand neighborhoods.

Judge Annike Lile, marketing coordinator for C2 Building Group, said, “The Brynn creates a lifestyle rooted in wellness, connection, and smart urban design.”  She cited the property’s interconnected indoor-outdoor spaces and access to an entire shared community network.

“The Brynn was well thought out with numerous amenities and offerings, right in the middle of the city,” said Judge Jeff Oesterblad, senior vice president at development firm IQHQ. JLL Managing Director Richard Gonor cited the project’s “impact on filling the housing shortage while maintaining sustainability and walkability.”

The Brynn features 200 contemporary apartments with 19 floor plans and extensive amenities on 3.3 acres, overlooking the award-winning 14.3-acre Civita Park.  The five-story residential enclave is highlighted by a pool area and recreation center, built to resort standards, overlooking Civita Park and Mission Valley.

Sudberry Properties’ development team for The Brynn includes general contractor Rockwood Construction, Architects Orange for architecture and landscape design, RICK for civil engineering and land planning, and Design Tec, Inc. for interior design.  Sudberry Properties provides property management for The Brynn at Civita.

Last year, Sudberry Properties was honored with CoStar’s 2025 Multifamily Development of the Year Impact Award for its Oceanside community, Luma at El Corazon.
